Apple's first foldable iPhone sold out within minutes of going on sale, Investing.com Indonesia reported on Friday, October 16, 2026.
The device, called the iPhone Duo, is Apple's first entry into the foldable phone market. According to Mojok.co, it carries a higher price tag than the iPhone 18.
Apple executive John Ternus said the iPhone Duo was prepared over a period of 15 years, kontan.co.id reported. VOI.ID reported that the phone will run a dedicated version of iOS 27.1.
Erajaya chief executive expressed confidence that the iPhone Duo will still find buyers despite its high price, according to detikInet. Erajaya is an Indonesian distributor of Apple products.
The sellout reflects strong early demand for Apple's foldable entry, though the reports did not specify how many units were available at launch or in which markets the device sold out.
What to watch next: whether Apple restocks the iPhone Duo and releases official sales figures, and whether the dedicated iOS 27.1 build arrives alongside the device.
